Jack founded Harris Design, Inc. in 1987, and the company still operates today. Jack is a graphic designer, illustrator and educator. He is an expert in marketing communications and has created successful campaigns for a diverse mix of clients in a variety of media. He is a conceptual thinker and is driven to achieve the overall goals and objectives of each assignment with imaginative, well-executed memorable designs.

With over 27 years of experience, Jack has designed hundreds of logos and corporate identities; direct mail campaigns; ads; web sites and integrated campaigns and his work has been recognized internationally, nationally, regionally and locally by Graphis, Communication Arts and Design, Print, The Society of Illustrators, The Society of Publication Designers, the Art Directors Club of Washington, DC, the Art Director’s Club of Philadelphia and the Advertising club of Delaware.

Also a nationally known illustrator, he founded Visual Logic in 1990 and illustrated for clients as diverse as Millbrook Press for Children, DC Comics, Scientific American and PC Magazine. He is a member of The Society of Illustrators, the AIGA, The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the University and College Designers Association (UCDA).

Prior to joining the fulltime faculty at Farmingdale, Jack taught classes in graphic design, typography and illustration at University of Delaware and Delaware College of Art and Design. He holds an MFA from Hartford University in Illustration, an MA in Illustration from Syracuse University and a BFA in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is the illustrator of Packed with Poison: Deadly Animal Defenses, the author of an Andrew Loomis monograph for Illustration Magazine, soon to be published as a full color book, the co-author of Vector Graphics and Illustration: A Master Class in Digital Image-Making published by Rotovision and the co-author and illustrator of several unpublished (yet) children’s books with his daughter Jennifer.
